Save the Animal Campaign
For our last unit in science, we'll be learning all about plants and animals. We'll study their life cycle and learn about different habitats around the world. Throughout this unit, we'll be making real world connections and seeing what impact we can have on the world around us.
This unit is going to have two culminating projects that require work to be done at home and at school. Part one is the animal research report. Students will be asked to research different animals on the endangered species list at home. To avoid different students having the same animals, students need to choose three and we'll go with the top one that nobody else has chosen. All research materials will be brought to school so that the actual writing can take place here.
Part two is the diorama. For this, students will use simple materials from around the house or the Dollar Store (this can quickly get pricey) to recreate their endangered animal's natural habitat. Since it is being made inside a shoe box, it will be small in scale but mighty in detail. This will be done at home and brought to school.
I am beyond excited and can't wait to see these fabulous projects!
